1. i felt sloth-like these past few days. i wake up at nine in the morn, eat breakfast, and sleep again LOL i didn't even bother to load up some credits.
2. my wife is on her 38th week of pregnancy. any day now, hopefully she'll give birth.
3. we have chicken macaroni, ref cake and spaghetti for new years. spent the last two days helping out my in-laws in selling fruits.
4. i'm a couple of pages away from finishing my institutional research.
5. i got no money now. at least, some money to spend for myself.

i apologize if my blog is starting to look like a list of things to do, whenever i blog. i guess i just don't want to forget anything. a couple of things:
1. i'm currently on my 24th unit in my doctorate degree. two more semesters (summer and 1st sem of 2008), and i'll be doing my dissertation work already. i'm carrying 15 units this 2nd semester, on top of that, 27 units of teaching load, and 11 units of undergraduate education courses (i'm planning to take the LET next year). talk about a lot of stuff.
2. my wife's expected delivery date is between december 24 to 30. Carla Venice (my junior) is coming out finally. we bought loads of clothes for my girl; at the back of my mind, i would still think if she'd look good in jeans and a bullcap (frustrated pa din haha).
3. for our first wedding anniversary, i surprised grace with the edited video coverage of the wedding (yes, ngayon ko lang na-edit). i waited for a year 'coz i didn't have enough money to have it done by someone, nor did i have confidence in some nutcase's standard "wedding job" on video coverages. it turned out okay. she cried a lot while we watched the video together.
4. classes are still up till the 21st. i VO-ed a christmas tree lighting ceremony last night. i'm covering the school's christmas party this 22nd.
5. i've already taught six kids how to edit using non-linear editing software. i teach students for free every tuesdays and thursdays. it's my new calling.

got some.
1. my wife's turning 7mos next week, entering the last phase of our pregnancy. she keeps saying she looks bloated, but i still think she's sexy hehe. i have slowly accepted the fact that we're having a girl as our first borne. we're naming her carla venice, after her dad's name. poor kid LOL
2. construction's through for the one-floor house we renovated from the detached adjunct bedroom my parents used to use. we've got our own cozy place.

THE TRUTH HURTS.
BUT THERE ARE AN AWFUL LOT OF WAYS

we were queueing for lunch rations during the second day of pmc, when, while queued, this senior from st. scho who was in front of me gave me the face and sarcastically said "why you wanna go first?", after i gave my food stub to the food guys. the caterers already had her stub, so i was lining up mine so we could be served. her companion-friend was worse, looking at he sharply from head-to-toe, as if sizing me up.
i was infuriated, but nonetheless realized that they were just kids who knew nothing but to belittle on other people. i wish them well. (yeah, right.)

glorietta mall was bombed today, leaving eight civilians dead, and more than 120 people injured. police are suspecting terrorists to be behind the suicide bombing early this afternoon.

i was on my way home, and hopped into a bus that showed manny pacquiao's fights. i was in between laughing and crying when i got off.

although the line-up for this year's pmc still had abs-cbn head honchos, it was noticeable that this pmc swerved away from the theatrics and glamour side of the media. no actors were made moderators; all the discussants were from top-level management of their respective industries.

hey there.
it's the end of the semester.
still kinda frantic though.
lotsa things still happening:
1. we're entering the third trimester of pregnancy. we're still trying to control out weight problem, but thank God, both of us aren't diabetic.
2. i am finishing my first semester in doctorate school (i took 9 units). so far, i've realized most of my classmates enjoy eating during discussions, most of them are party animals (even the seasoned peeps - with one of the professors as original founders of the Manila Dance Troupe), and love going home early. although i get frustrated because i feel like i'm short-changed at some point, i don't usually complain. as long as i complete requirements, i'm good to go. and i'm enrolling 12 units next semester (plus some MAED units, bringing my EDD total to 22units, and completing my MAED as well).
3. now i know how to edit using adobe premiere, bringing the total non-linear softwares that i know to 3 (the other two, pinnacle and vegas). i edited the recent awards convocation footage yesterday in less than two hours. i felt great.
4. i'm finishing the final touches to the prefatory chapters of an institutional research on the school's marketing strategies (sigh), on top pf the other paperwork i need to finish before the sem goes kaput.
will tell you more at the end of the week.

i am more than excited to be a dad.

i've recently had qualms over the coming school year.
although i've just been regularized, it seems that the enthusiasm that i should have felt when i received my papers have already waned, and i could not find it in my heart to behappy that much about it.
a lot of my co-faculty are saying i'm getting a lot of money 'cause my regularization was a year late (retroactive pay), but never the less, i'm not that excited.
what they don't know is that i've already been re-evaluated for the retro. i've been receiving a rate higher than theirs for the past two years.
my only hope is that when they process my retro, they put me a notch higher than my current rate so that i could get enough money to pay for grace's delivery in january.

the daughter of the vp will.

my back also hurt like shit. i was given a 5ml dose of nubain to calm my nerves.

i have already started shooting my latest short film, MARIPOSA.
it's a stoiry about a sixth grader who fantasizes and eventually infatuates about a sixteen year old lass who spends her day bathing and contemplating by the river.
starring sixteen year-old marilyn of ABMC 1, and co-starred by another freshie Carlo Raymon, the film was initially shot in the cavern-flanked serene river of Brgy. Mapalad in Pangao, Lipa City. ayen remo of BUS 2, dennis carbonilla of locally-produced PARAISO and paolo castro also co-stars.
paolo cabasisi, camera engineer for BUS 1 is DOP, with moonyeen lina as production manager.

what's happening to me now?
1. my wife is three months pregnant. i actually heard my baby's heartbeat the other month. i recorded it in my phone.
2. i'm starting my doctorate this july 21st. funny, PLM lost my enrolment papers last week, and got my scheds mixed up. i'm going back there friday to settle things.
3. i am off to cinemalaya on the 27th this month, an awards day on august 19, and supporting my students in the 1st calabarzon student shortfilm festival.
4. my right eye got uber-irritated by my contact lenses. i need to get a new pair.
5. we're moving out to a new house hopefully by the end of the month. my wife can barely climb up the stairs anymore.
6. i'm also through with the teletech language course i'm spearheading.

here are some updates about me.
1. i'm going to be a dad soon. my wife's two months pregnant, and my baby's heartbeat is perceivable. i am VERY excited.
2. i am up to my neck with work. my department is getting accredited this august 1-3.
3. i finished one more film for summer. it's called BUS: IKALAWANG SAKAY, starring two sophomore masscom students.
4. i'm starting a language proficiency program starting next week. it's a tie-up program with a call center.
5. my wife and i, together with a couple students, went to cebu to the international academy of film and television. we stayed there for one weekend.

got a new job this summer.
i was appointed practicum coordinator for foreign service and paralegal students.
i'm actually here at buendia now, killing time.
'will meet the kids later at noon.
(and init dito sa netopia sa atrium mall. grr.)
back home i left a couple of things i need to finish:
1. the modified evaluation sheet for the needs assessment of brgy. wawa and bo. ferry daycare centers;
2. mrs. V's tarpaulin design for her niece who just passed the ECE board;
3. the paperwork i have to reorganize for the accreditation in september;
4. the mount of clothes i have to wash; and,
5. the dvd i have to return because it's all blurry LOL
the wife discovered my stash of porn i dubiously hid right in front of her sight - together with the rest of the wholseome dvds i store in the tv cabinet. she wasn't mad ;p just couldn't believe she discovered it just now. goes to show, she's realized i'm still in love with the "collections" i had since highschool.

HAPPY SUMMER EVERYONE!
summer's hot, and i mean scorshin'!
the mass com peeps and i are going to cebu this coming may 18-20 for an exposure trip to the international academy for film and television. turns out, an acquaintance of mine is the student services coordinator there. he's helping me out with the ropes.
'been a while since i've blogged. here's what's happening in my life now:
1. a year's up, and i'm starting my paperwork for the upcoming accreditation for september. i am swampped with work.
2. we're transferring to a smaller house because of two reasons: (1) i can't sleep upstairs 'coz it's so damn hot; (2) the rent's kinda steep for the budget.
3. i'm handling the OJT of my paralegal studies and foreign service students. the PL will start at the Public Attorney's Office and Provincial Prosecutor's Office this monday. the FS, on the other hand, will start at the Office of Consular Affairs at DFA on tuesday.
4. i recently produced an AVP for the president's birthday. after three days of shooting, nine hours of editing, and three dry-runs prior to the production, the blasted AVP didn't have audio output during th actual presentation. needless to say, i got my butt kicked big time by the VPs and my dean. i cried when i got home.
5. i was riding the jeep this morning, and realized that the teener who sat beside me is the sibling of my ex. man, that was awkward. kasi nung kami pa nung kapatid nya, nakikita nya akong nagsleep-over kapag wala yung parents nila LOL
6. my additional income for this semester comes from designing tarpaulins, and producing AVPs and TV ads for local politicians. the pay's not that bad.
7. i still have no luck impregnating my wife. Grr.
8. i dropped out of the BARAKO film. instead, i'm focusing on my seocond film, JEEP. will post the video of BUS here soon.

interesting enough, there were last minute delays to the signing.
noetheless, the contracts were signed. kinda. 'cause the president hasn't signed his copy yet - much to the dismay of some staff members of TELETECH.

i'm starting to set my mind to thinking that we'd be childless for a couple of more years.
hopefully by that time, we've already saved some money for our kid.

frankly speaking, i'm kinda scared. but relief suddenly takes over, though.

the TELETECH tie-up finally pushed through the other day.
interesting enough, there were last minute delays to the signing.
noetheless, the contracts were signed. kinda. 'cause the president hasn't signed his copy yet - much to the dismay of some staff members of TELETECH.

i was actually on my way to the ccp to submit
my film, and guess what?
they're closed on mondays. darn it.

paolo and i are planning to do a sequel to BUS.
thet was a bit exciting to hear: BUS - after three years of the first encounter.

i'm starting to feel like my film wasn't meant to be shown at cinemalaya.
my spirits are dampened. downright wet.

i;m meeting nick olanka later at 12nn for a seminar
we're doing on the 16th. sana mag-work out.
haven't had any confirmations from the attendees kasi.
i'm starting to worry.

last saturday, i was informed by a close friend
of the rumor mongering that a teachers has started about my department.
seems that the teacher thinks i'm not qualified to be department chair.
and she emphasized that neither are the masscom teachers who have no MAs.
she said, as i was told, that non-MAers were no match for those with an MA degree.
this angered me a bit. for quite some time, i taught without an MA under
my wings. the only reason i finished mine was because i promised my former
department chairman that i would. it had nothing to do with being better than the rest of the faculty.
add this to the bullish attitude of the former DC who has hold over everyone else in the department. can't blame her though since she was one of the pioneers. if only CHED wasn't as strict as they were, she'd still be DC - yes. that's the only reason i became the DC. not because i was better than anyone else. twas because i had an MA.
kinda sucks when you look ay it.

i cried the forst time we thought we had a kid, tapos nagkaroon siya.
the second time, she cried.
have learned to not have much hope on me having a kid anytime soon.
just on a piggy back on that, i think i'm baog. bwahaha

it's been a while since i've posted anything here.
got no time. plus, i don't have access to the net now that
i can't go out at night to surf.
pamilyado na eh. well, sorta.

a couple of weeks ago, i thought my wife was pregnant.
so i hastened her from eating this, drinking that,
stopped her from drinking beer at the company party; stuff like that.
a day before the date we were supposed to check
whether or not she was pregnant,
she had her menstruation.
i broke into tears.
honestly, i was expecting.

she told me that she'd have her last set of hepa B shots
by feb 1. that meant no contact (as if) till then.
i told her i could wait.
"why wait?", she told me last night.
needless to say more bout that.

i'm getting the feel that i might not be a great fatherafter all. do i have the guts?
my dad went to our apartment the other day, helpign me put up the antenna
for the tv i bought a couple of months ago.
after installing the antenna he told me to never dare
climb up and fix it.
at first, he told me i was too fat for the job.
i dismissed his comment. then he said,
i wasn't fit for jobs like that.
then what jobs am i fit for?
that made me start thinking: what am i good at?
i know i'm not the handyman-type of person,
but am i that unadept to housework?
